Sid Pocius is originally from Lithuania but now makes his home in Sarasota, Florida.

After auditioning at the age of 6 to be trained at one of the top Dance Sport schools in Europe, Sid soon discovered his passion and talent for this beautiful form of art and sport. He almost immediately began competing, not only in his native country, but throughout Europe. Having the opportunity to work with the best coaches in the world, Sid very quickly became an International Latin, Standard, and 10 Dance Champion.

Being fortunate with his dance career, and creating a large base of competitive students, Sid opened his own studio in Europe at 18 years old. After having five successful years he decided to come to the United States to share his passion and experience. Sid fell in love with the American Style dancing and competed in it, becoming a finalist in some of the largest US competitions. Traveling to studios around the United States as a coach and choreographer, Sid quickly realized that his heart belongs in America.

Now became a proud American Citizen, Certified World Class Professional Judge in all 5 Styles with the NDCA and WD&DSC, successful coach and choreographer, organizer of Champion’s Gala in Sarasota, and owner of Empire Ballroom Studios.
